Was the Ark of the Covenant located in Ethiopia?

The other day I had a chance to read the report of the Russian traveler Konyukhov about his visit to Ethiopia. So, the latter claims that he was given the Ark of the Covenant for inspection in Ethiopia.

Konyukhov described in detail what it (the Ark) is and its contents. The Jews know nothing about this. The presence of the Ark as an artifact would help explain the reality of the claim of the divine origin of Judaism.

What do you think of it?

The object that was shown to the Russian traveler in Ethiopia could only be a model, built according to a description taken from the Torah or from our other books.

Everything made according to the instructions of the Creator for the Temple by Moshe Rabbeinu himself or under his leadership, including the Aron HaBrit (Ark of the Covenant), where the Luchot HaBrit (stone tablets) that Moshe brought from Mount Sinai are kept, exist and will be exist forever.

But no one yet knows where all this is now. It is known from the Oral Torah that shortly before the Babylonian army invaded Jerusalem and destroyed the first Temple, these objects of high level of holiness, so that attackers could not use them for their own purposes, were hidden - supernaturally sank into the depths of the Temple Mount. They will appear again at the final stage of the materialistic history of mankind, when our people will have the Third Temple.

.

Now - to the question of how much “artifacts” (the Ark of the Covenant and others), if we had them now, could help, as you write, “to explain the reality of the statement about the divine origin of Judaism.”

Firstly, if anyone needs proof of the existence of the Temple, we have it. In Jerusalem - and the whole world knows about this - there is the western part of the wall that has survived to this day (in many countries it is known as the “Wailing Wall”), which once surrounded the Second Temple. Moreover, underground rows of stones were built for the First Temple.

Secondly, and this is perhaps the most important thing, a person always has freedom of choice. If the Ark and any other Temple objects were available for our viewing, this would not change anything in human perception of the Truth. Those who do not want to accept the Truth would come up with theories refuting it about the Ark. For those who live with faith in the Creator and strive to get closer to him, what is revealed to us today is quite enough to make the right choice.

There is no such goal - to make robots out of us in order to force us to believe in Him. There is a Great Goal - to come to the Truth through free choice.
