Season cherries just around the corner, which means it's time to remember the Jewish recipes with cherries. The Soviet Jews were the most popular cherry pies and dumplings, and their Western compatriots - cherry pies and cakes. The variety of simply amazing: pies closed and open, with mesh and without it, with cinnamon and almonds - just choose!



You will need:


For the dough:


250 g flour


80 g butter


100 g of sugar


70 g of cream


1 egg


½ h. Tablespoons baking powder


For filling:


650 g of cherries


100 g of sugar


3 tbsp. spoon potato starch



























If cherry pie baked earlier in the main to Saturday and drank tea with them in the family, the cake was served to the guests. Moreover, they are perfect for table decorations. Now for the most commonly used cooking frozen cherries - it has already pitted. And as an additive to sour whipped cream cake is fed with sugar. Tasty and almost harmless - because in this low-calorie cake batter!




Cooking method


Mix and mash together the flour, sugar, baking powder and butter. Add sour cream and egg and mix well. Pour into a mold and hold in the refrigerator for half an hour. When the dough is cooled down - put it in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.


Meanwhile, mix cherries with sugar and starch, hold on the fire until it begins to remind you of a thick cherry jelly. Put the stuffing in the form of dough and place in oven for 20-30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
