Weekly "Behar" ( "On the Mountain") is mainly devoted to the laws relating to ownership of land and slaves in the Land of Israel, that is, the laws of the land and the Jewish redemption of slaves and the years of recreation land - Schmitt and Yovel. These are the laws, due to the holiness of the Land of Israel. Chapter prescribes also assist the needy.

One of chapter twenty-four commandments (seven - of the ASE and seventeen - lo taase) says that in the country of Israel can not be sold in perpetuity allotments: "And the land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine; You are strangers and sojourners with me. And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land "(25:23, 24).
